Danyelle believes in utilizing a variety of methods, starting with treat training to establish positive associations and reinforce desired behaviors. However, Danyelle understands the importance of gradually transitioning away from treats, incorporating simple cue like kind words and gentle petting to continue reinforcing positive behavior.
While Danyelle acknowledges that there may be instances where negative reinforcement is necessary, she emphasizes that it can be implemented without resorting to harshness or aggression. Instead, negative reinforcement serves as a means of correcting undesirable behavior while still guiding the horse toward positive learning experiences.
Though not everyone may subscribe to treat training in horses, Danyelle has witnessed firsthand its effectiveness when combined with her kinder approach to training. By prioritizing positive reinforcement and cultivating a bond of trust and respect with the horse, Danyelle has found considerable success in her endeavors as a horse trainer.
